The Tascosa Excellence Council consists of parents interested in supporting and promoting excellence in all phases of the programs offered at Tascosa High School. This organization facilitates interaction and communication among the school staff, students, and parents. We encourage your participation. Please mark your calendars with the following Wednesday meeting dates:

October 5th
November 2nd
December 7th
February 1st
March 1st
April 5th
May 3rd

The meetings begin at 5:15 p.m. in the school library. Dues are $10.00 per family. All donations are appreciated. All money raised by the Tascosa Excellence Council goes toward honoring and recognizing students and teachers, publishing and mailing four newsletters, providing scholarships to Boys and Girls State and funding a portion of the Tascosa Focus and Mentor programs. In addition, the Tascosa Excellence Council provides funding for specific needs of the teachers through special requests.

A free bumper sticker will be given with each membership received at the Freshman Orientation on August 5th, 2005 or at the "Meet the Rebels Night" on August 16th, 2005.

Seniors need to be applying to colleges at this time. Many early decision applications are due next week. Apply for admission to any Texas public university at www.applytexas.org.

Freshmen parents need to get a folder set up for your child. Collect all their course schedules, record activities, record awards, and any curricular activities. Also record extra curricular activies, honors, job experience, volunteer activities, church activities, present hobbies, etc. Record dates and the amount of time involved in each activity. Each year continue to add to the folder. When your child is ready to apply for college, he/she can complete a resume to send with the application from this information. Volunteerism is very important. Try to encourage your child to commit to service within our community on a weekly basis.
