Rebs End Season With 36-21 Win Over SAC
The Tascosa Rebels played their final football game of the 2008 season on the road in San Angelo as they faced the Bobcats at a 7:30 pm kickoff.

The Rebels kicked off to start the game. It wasn’t until the 3:12 mark in the 1st quarter that San Angelo Central put up the first points on the scoreboard on a Bobcat touchdown. The extra point was good to make it 7-0 San Angelo Central.

After a defensive battle by both teams, the bobcats took their 7-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Rebels stormed out of the locker with the final half of the 2008 season remaining. Tascosa jumped on the scoreboard when Casey Burkhardt ran it in from 4 yards out. Toby Dennis booted the PAT to tie the game 7-7.

With the 3rd quarter winding down, Casey Burkhardt scored another Rebel touchdown from the 1-yard line, and Toby Dennis nailed the extra point to give Tascosa a 14-7 lead with :13 left in the 3rd.

The Bobcats would answer the call with 11:33 to go in the game. The PAT was good to make it 14-14 tie.

With Rebel pride on the line in front of the THS faithful, Tanner Dennis took it to the house on a 52-yard jaunt while brother Toby Dennis tacked on the extra point with 10:15 left in the Tascsoa football season. Tascosa 21, San Angelo Central 14.

Forget about the Refridgerator, Rebel head coach Heath Parker has his own – Seanterry Burks. With the ball on the 4-yard line and 7:41 remaining in the fourth quarter, THS quarterback Dalton Brooks handed the ball off to big #93 and watched Burks barrel his way into the end zone for another Rebel TD. Toby Dennis remained perfect on the night in the extra point category by booting his fourth PAT to give Tascosa a 28-14 lead.

San Angelo would score their final points on the evening with 4:39 remaining in the game. The Bobcats converted the PAT to make it 28-21 Rebels.

The final Tascosa Rebel touchdown of the 2008 season came with 3:11 to go in the game when junior quarterback Dalton Brooks darted and dashed his way through the Bobcat defense from 50-yards out. Coach Heath Parker pulled out another surprise when Brooks hit senior defensive lineman Chris Flores for the 2-point conversion. With smiles on their faces, the Rebel football team kept their lead to give Tascosa a win in their final game by a score of 36-21.

Great job Rebels!
